A cardiologist by professional and a garden enthusiast. Gohul is passionate about gardening and garden artistry.
Along with my wife Padmini Gohulabalan, a software techie; we run Sorrel Garden with passion and love. We started this as a hobby and now this has become a major component in our life, were we really enjoy with our family by celebrating parties and encourage many get-togethers for those who really need space for fun.
What does it take to pursue this hobby?
Like most other crafts, this requires a deep passion, practice and lots of patience!
Why miniatures gardens in particular?
In a metropolitan city with maddening crowd, noise and pollution, land for city gardening is a scarce commodity where people hardly find a place to have their own garden. This is the current situation of people living in big cities. Many houses and apartments include a tiny porch, balcony, or patio where they likely to have few plants, but at times they become tough for them to maintain.
Taking these drawbacks to our advantage as opportunities, we wished to refashion/ redesign the gardening epics to reach every generation. With a little heartfelt magic, right choice of plants, added colors, glued with few accessories, throwing small stones, etc., will take you to the miniature prehistoric jungle. Imagination, creativity and a pinch of time made me to get a mesmerizing unique garden. Every parcel open space is valued at a premium, and the competition for its use is fierce. If this thought comes to your mind, the apt choice is going to be unique miniature collections from Sorrel gardens. Also, for those who are looking for little plants with a tag sticking in the pot end up in buying assorted succulents and cacti. They are booming in popularity for two simple reasons: they are beautiful and nearly indestructible. We do have an incredible variety of interesting leaf forms and plant shapes, including paddle leaves, tight rosettes and bushy or trailing columns of teardrop leaves etc, which attract a majority of our customers indeed.
Proposed Showcase at the BHFTH?
We will be back with a wider range of garden miniatures and garden curios.
