Tell us a bit about yourself.
I introduce myself as Anusha M Dharam, mom of two lovely sons. Currently an inspired entrepreneur with 15 years of exposure in corporate segment in the Financial Services Industry and over two years alongside spouse in the Confectionery Business. Chennai-ite at heart, roots in Tenkasi and Kerala. Influenced by the roots, mythology and the ancient in the urban. Love for words like Machil, Naarkali, veragu-aduppu, lota, kaathadi. Experiences with green fields, huge cauldron Cooking, discipline of rituals, Twilight chanting, fresh food and flavours.
Do you come from a food background?
Yes, over two years with Kandee Factory.
Why do you love to create and make? Or how do you find inspiration?
Happiness. The way we all live life today, we have very limited time to actually cook the traditional way. Yet we love that authentic taste that comes from setting aside a certain amount of time for the preparing the food. It was tradition to make payasam on birthdays. My mom always made payasam on birthdays. So I felt instead of losing the tradition to fast lives we could package it.

There are three flavours for now. Classic, Bubble, Banana. Soon to introduce other authentic varieties.
What is the most rewarding part of the creative process for you?
When the end product meets what I had in mind and others enjoy it too.
What’s the best thing about being a food artisan?
It is creative & soul satisfying work.
Do you have any advice for aspiring food entrepreneurs?
If you love what you do, you will find ways to make it work.
Anything exciting on the cards for the coming months?
Yet to start work on that one.
